About the Hive

The Hive Gallery, Boutique and (coming soon) Cafe are the creation of "Queen Bees" Emily Edmunds and Olivia Henrie with their minions of artists and supporters.

When The Hive Gallery opened in 2009 it was the vision of Emily Edmunds to create a space that inspired artists of all mediums to come up with exhibitions that didn't just showcase the work but created events that were interactive and included the community. It's what sets The Hive apart from other galleries, the willingness to step outside of the boundaries of convention to explore and expose all of Salt Lake City's creative facets.

In 2010 Olivia Henrie signed on to create and manage The Hive Boutique. After a series of successful fashion shows that exhibited the work of local designers (Sophie St. Claire, Jordan Halversen, Rachel Domingo, etc) the demand to show and sell their clothes in The Hive Gallery meant that a boutique would be needed. Along with fashion Olivia has brought in beauty supplies, artistic gifts, cards, prints, pillows, toys, and accessories to inspire the creative individual in you.

We believe in the creative community. We believe in creating a space that inspires artists and viewers alike. We believe that together we can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. We believe that art isn't limited to a 2-dimensional blank canvas. We believe the world is our canvas and that everyone is a painter.
